Does a WiFi QR code work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Both open the network automatically with the built-in camera app — no separate scanner needed. On iPhone, point Camera at the code and tap the WiFi banner that appears. On Android, the camera or a quick QR shortcut in the notification shade does the same.
Is my WiFi password sent to your servers?
No. This tool builds the QR code entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your network name and password are encoded straight into the image on your own device and never sent anywhere. We log only that a WiFi QR code was generated, with your network name — your password is deliberately excluded from that log.
What if my network is hidden (not broadcasting its name)?
Check the "Hidden network" box before generating. That flags the QR code so connecting devices know to actively search for your SSID instead of waiting to see it listed.
Which security type should I pick?
Choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost any modern router — they all share the same QR encoding. Pick WEP only for very old hardware, or "No password" for an open guest network.
Does the QR code expire or stop working?
No. It keeps working for as long as the network name and password stay the same. If you change your WiFi password, generate a new code — the old one will no longer connect.
